The Generals of Louisiana Louisiana produced a large share of high ranking military officials during the Civil War. Many of them had been educated at West Point, and were U. S. Army officers when the war broke out. Most switched sides. This book contains an alphabetical list of the men who were generals and admirals during the Civil War who had either served or lived in Louisiana. Some did both.
