The Oasis model of social care - based on the integrated provision of services - has been hugely successful and yet, this joined-up approach has been turned down by local authorities and national funding bodies again and again. In fact, Zaian was murdered just yards away from where an Oasis-proposed youth centre would have been operational.

This book shares the ten simple, straight-forward principles that undergird Oasis' holistic approach to community work - from 'doing things with people not to or for them' to 'one-size never fits all' - and shows how reintroducing a fully funded youth and community service could have the power to change and protect the lives of our young people for good.
