During World War II, Danny Carter defused bombs in England, France, Belgium, and Germany. He rendered-safe the first ever intact V-1 rocket bomb that crash-landed on the continent. He left behind his boyhood railroad shack in Tacoma, ate K-rations served on silver platters in Princess Anne's English castle, and searched the Rothschild's French mansion and Dachau death camp for Nazi booby-traps. His carefully planned explosions shattered the windows of the U.S. Ninth Air Force Headquarters France and immobilized Fort Riley Kansas with smoke.
