The Three Gifts: The Truth about Santa Claus

Who is Santa Claus, and how is he connected to our tradition of celebrating Jesus' birth each December? The Three Gifts explains to older children and young teens who St. Nicholas really was: the few facts we know about his life, legends that give us hints about his motivation and deeds, and how he morphed into the modern-day figure we know as Santa Claus. This book is unique in that it also presents the story of Jesus' life and purpose, and how St. Nicholas performed secret, charitable acts as a way of honoring and obeying Jesus' teachings. The Three Gifts reconciles Christian tradition with the cultural phenomena of Santa Claus in a learner-friendly way by exploring the progression of three gifts: God's gift to humankind, St. Nicholas' acts of love, and our own opportunity to "live the tradition" by focusing on Christ at Christmas, and serving others - as St. Nick did - as Christ's "hands and feet." A portion of the proceeds from each sale of this book is donated to Operation Christmas Child, a special project run by Samaritan's Purse to help needy children worldwide at Christmastime.
