Matters of the Heart Seasons of Love (Winter: The Uncertain Heart)

Beverly Sparks couldn't explain what was happening to her. Why was she feeling this way? She loved her family, but recently she'd grown cold toward family gatherings. Now widowed for nearly five years, she set the family in an uproar when at Thanksgiving, she announced she would not be joining them for Christmas. She was going on a Christmas cruise.

Emily, her eldest "Miss Butt-in-sky" was against her mother traveling alone. So without her mother's permission she asked Mr. Melvin, (the family's mechanic) to travel incognito to keep an eye on her. However, Emily had no idea that Melvin had been secretly in love with Beverly even before her husband died. Would things aboard ship go as Melvin hoped they would, or would this be Beverly's worst Christmas ever?
