Through a broad and highly accessible examination of everyday use of language, this volume challenges the monolingual mindset by highlighting how languages and language-related issues surround us in many different ways, and how the latter can, if required, be addressed. The book features analysis and discussion of the use of languages within and across a range of contexts, including post-migration settlement, policy, education, language contact and intercultural communication.
