This book brings together the experiences of an international group of practitioners and researchers from a number of research disciplines and industries concerned with making products more accessible to a wider range of end-users. With its roots in the third Cambridge Workshop on Universal Access and Assitive Technology (CWUAAT), held in Cambridge, UK in April 2006, this book has chapters on: design issues for a more inclusive world enabling computer access and the development of new technologies assistive technology and rehabilitation robotics understanding users and involving them in the design process. Reflecting the spirit of recent moves to extend rights to equitable participation in society for all, this series of workshops and accompanying books is aimed at a broad range of interests, with a general focus on the development of products and solutions. Case studies and examples of good practice are used to raise awareness of the challenges faced in developing truly inclusive products.
