The third volume describes the years in exile of the members of the dynasty following the French revolution of 1789 as well as the complex circumstances that led to the restoration of the monarchy under Louis XVIII (1814-1824). The subsequent failed attempt to turn back the wheel of time by Charles X (1824-1830) leading to his ousting and the end of the traditional Bourbon line is laid out. Beneficiary of these events was Louis Philippe (1830-18-48) from the house of Bourbon-Orléons. But the "King of the French" kept the crown only until 1848, when he was toppled by another revolution, thus ending the monarchy of the house of Bourbon in France.
