Kompletní popis

With the emergence of mobile Internet-enabled devices and multimedia real-time applications, the factors handoff delay, survivability and fault tolerance have become important concerns in the existing IP Mobility architecture. Several IP micromobility approaches have been proposed in the literature to enhance the performance of Mobile IP which supports quality of service, minimum packet loss, limited handoff delay and scalability. Recent efforts have focussed on providing seamless handover, fault tolerance, reliability and continuous end-to-end service connectivity on the move minimizing the delay and disruption period for real-time applications. Failures that inhibit communications or result in loss of critical data will not be tolerated. This issue also relates to the reaction upon any failure of links or routers and hence there is a growing need to understand the performance of micromobility protocols under failure conditions. This book presents the implementation and performance analysis of fault tolerant algorithms in micromobility protocols, namely Hierarchical Mobile IP, Cellular IP and Handoff-Aware Wireless Access Internet Infrastructure.
