This book presents an in-depth investigation into the application of fuzzy logic for analyzing surface roughness in components machined using the Electrical Discharge Diamond Grinding (EDDG) process. Surface roughness is a critical indicator of surface integrity and directly influences the functional performance, wear behavior, and service life of engineering components. Electrical Discharge Diamond Grinding, a hybrid machining process combining electrical discharge erosion and diamond grinding, offers significant advantages in machining hard and difficult-to-machine materials. However, the complex and nonlinear interaction of electrical and mechanical process parameters makes accurate prediction of surface quality challenging. To address this issue, this book employs fuzzy logic-based modeling techniques capable of handling uncertainty, imprecision, and variability inherent in advanced manufacturing processes. The book covers surface roughness fundamentals, EDDG process principles, experimental methodology, and the development and validation of fuzzy inference systems for surface roughness prediction. Emphasis is placed on interpretable rule-based modeling and decision support.
