The General Overview identifies the major sources of instability and uncertainty in the current global landscape and assesses their far-reaching implications for global development. It systematically sets out the remaining elements of stability and favorable conditions, and explores both the general framework and concrete pathways for advancing global stability and sustainable development. The Special Topics section reviews recent progress and achievements, as well as the instability and uncertainty challenges, in areas such as global trade, climate change, health, food security and poverty reduction, industrialization in developing countries, digital and intelligent technologies, Global South development cooperation, and collective efforts to uphold the UN-centered international system, and offers targeted policy recommendations accordingly.
