The Hollywood Interviews brings together five of the greatest of contemporary auteur directors - Francis Ford Coppola, Brian de Palma, Martin Scorsese, Clint Eastwood and Tim Burton - and the directorial team of the Coen brothers. Together, they represent some of the leading directors of the last twenty years of cinema. All are auteurs, directors with vision whose movies reflect their particular obsessions and ways of seeing the world.The interviews were all commissioned for the legendary film collective, Cahiers du Cinema, the first group of critics to treat films, particularly Hollywood films, as a serious art form.
