This book provides a concept for integrated planning and operation of plating process chains based on a cyber-physical production system. Data are acquired from the physical plating process chain and prepared for a multiscale simulation. This simulation covers all process chain elements and stages as well as the interdependencies between these elements. The results of the simulation are the foundation for control and decision support modules to improve the economic, environmental and occupational performance of a plating process chain. Finally, the concept is applied in three industrial case studies covering different planning and operation aspects.
