Kawaiisu offers the most comprehensive record of the language and culture of the Kawaiisu people, a Native community of the southern Sierra Nevada and adjacent desert regions of California. Drawing on decades of collaboration with Kawaiisu speakers, Maurice L. Zigmond, Curtis G.
