The murder occurs within the fictional small town of Goldfisch Landing, nestled in Big Fish County. The main character, Sean Herring, attorney-at-law, has a secret he feels he must hide from everyone, most of all from his homophobic family members and so-called friends from his past. No one must find out because some can misconstrue his gender identity as worse than coming out of the closet.
Sean Herring has discovered it is not easy keeping a secret in a small town that is like living in a goldfish bowl. Things heat up as he finds himself deeply involved in a locked-room murder mystery and a romantic liaison in the LGBTQ-friendly town.
