In 1972, Colin and Hannah Chilton had been happily married for just two years when a lawyer's letter arrived shortly after Colin's 25th birthday one that would change their world forever. A gardener on a large country estate in the middle of England, Colin had lived there all his life. He loved his job and his life with Hannah, an accountant.
The letter, sent by the estate's family lawyer, Fentham, revealed that the man Colin had always believed to be his father was, in fact, someone else entirely. Colin and Hannah had to decide whether to continue their lives as they were or to accept an inheritance.
Accepting the inheritance required them to uncover the truth about what happened during World War II and to determine who was responsible for his parents' murder on their wedding day. As they explored the family history, they unearthed numerous previously unknown stories including what may be the world's only "Perfect Crime" which ultimately led to an attempt on their lives and forced them to relocate.
