Statik der Gewächse ist eine bahnbrechende Arbeit des englischen Botanikers Stephen Hales, veröffentlicht im frühen 18. Jahrhundert. Dieses Werk, ursprünglich auf Englisch als "Vegetable Staticks" erschienen, präsentiert Hales' innovative Experimente zur Pflanzenphysiologie. Er untersucht darin den Wasserhaushalt und den Stoffwechsel von Pflanzen und liefert wichtige Erkenntnisse über die Bewegung von Flüssigkeiten in Pflanzen sowie über die Rolle der Luft bei ihrem Wachstum. Hales' akribische Beobachtungen und quantitativen Messungen legten den Grundstein für die moderne Pflanzenphysiologie und machten ihn zu einem Pionier der wissenschaftlichen Forschung in der Botanik.
