It is then that Joe realizes his temporary status on Threshold is fraught with danger and deception. For even the son of the wealthiest company chief in the solar system and the spoiled daughter of a powerful religious leader of the Muslim world of Medina were risking mortal peril just by daring to fall in love. Joe could hardly believe it, but this could create an interstellar incident that could push all the human-occupied worlds and space colonies into the long-dreaded war no one wants.
