§Das TNM Supplement 1993 erleichtert die einheitliche Anwendung der TNM Klassifikation. Das Supplement bietet Erklärungen und Beispiele, die helfen, praktische Probleme beim täglichen Benutzen von TNM zu lösen. Es definiert die Voraussetzungen für eine pathologische Klassifikation (pT, pN) und enthält Empfehlungen für die Klassifikation neuer Tumorlokalisationen und Tumorarten, die noch nicht formell in das TNM System aufgenommen sind. Das Supplement enthält außerdem Vorschläge für eine optimale Ausweitung von TNM Untergruppen, da wo detailliertere Angaben erforderlich sind, ohne die grundlegenden Regeln der TNM Klassifikation zu ändern. The supplement provides explanations and examples that will solve practical problems when using TNM on a daily basis. It spells out the requirements for pathological classification (pT, pN) and contains recommendations for classification of new tumour sites and entities which are not yet formally included in the TNM system. It also includes proposals for optimal expansion of TNM subsets where more detailed data are needed without altering the basic rules of the TNM Classification.
