Vicky a quick-witted, Latina teen has a life of purpose planned. She's going to university early and invent great things. Her relaxed, creative twin brother Andres is more concerned about soccer. Tomas, their widowed father, tells them they're headed back to a small town to save the family tortilla factory. Undeterred, she'll find solutions for the factory and keep to her plan on track.
Vicky arrives to encounter a onery goat, a mean girl, Renata and memories of her mother she doesn't want to face. The pressure and obligation for her family and community plays against the desire to put herself first. In order to end the tortilla wars with Renata, they must work together and leverage their strengths to escape an adventure back in Aztec times. The jungle, pyramids and danger bring them together but complications arise. Vicky can embrace this new life or decide her destiny.
