Since l997, in a unique and long-running series Stan Walinets has been penning a weekly four-line poem for The Northern Echo, the North-East morning newspaper based in Darlington.
Walinets'' wee cryptic gems look at his own region, the UK, and the world overall with a perceptive humour, and a special skill to sum up the significance of both great and small events with economy and wit.
The book includes more than 300 examples of the genre, and is a poetic time-travel through the events that have shaped our recent history, from local to global.
