Radiology is a medical specialty, which uses imaging techniques for the treatment and diagnosis of diseases occurring in the human body. Ultrasound, X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) are some of the techniques used. Some of the subspecialties in radiology are musculoskeletal imaging, neuroradiology, pediatric radiology, nuclear medicine, emergency radiology, etc. Various forms of arthritis, congenital skeletal anomalies, bone tumors and fractures can be diagnosed by projectional radiography.
